When a person or vehicle is detected in a restricted area, a trained operator reviews the event and responds in real time. They can engage through two-way audio before escalating further to first responders.

Most camera systems record continuously but rely on someone reviewing footage after an incident has occurred. Proactive RVM puts a trained operator on every flagged event as it happens, with the ability to intervene directly.

Not by default. Proactive RVM operators respond when a detection is flagged by Alarm.com's Video Analytics. Some service providers offer more continuous monitoring services. Contact your service provider to understand what's available for your business.

When an event is flagged, an operator reviews live and recorded video to assess the situation. From there, they can address individuals directly through two-way audio, contact local authorities, or clear the event if no threat is present, all from the monitoring portal without dispatching anyone to the site.

Use Alarm.com's Video Analytics to define where and when monitoring is triggered. Ground zones and tripwires can be configured to specific areas of a site, so operators are only notified when a detection occurs in a location that matters to your business.

Proactive Video Monitoring supports select third-party cameras alongside Alarm.com cameras. Axis and Hanwha cameras support full signal generation to the monitoring station. Cameras on ONVIF and VAPIX protocols can be viewed by operators but cannot generate signals to the monitoring station. Contact your security provider for a full list of compatible models.
